The mystery of Sarah Hunter

Here's a thing I don't get; Sarah Hunter is almost the poster woman for Steampunk, and she looks great. And she's full of spirit and inventiveness, and attitude. But there's almost no femdom associated with her steampunk-ness...apart from this campy nonsense.

It really looks like there ought to be - but in so far as her career as a porn film actress involved BDSM, she seems to have been exclusively a sub (see this for a typical example, but there are lots.)

Perhaps someone could point me a some untapped vein of Sarah Hunter as a dominatrix? Or explain?

Clocksucker: A Curiously Arousing Femdom Steampunk Fantasy (Pneumatic Love Book 1)

Another one that I wasn't so keen on...I really don't mean to denigrate all the other 'steampunk femdom fiction' that I come across, it's just that so far I haven't found much that I've liked.

Again, this is well written, and the steampunk aspects are rather good; I especially like the details as to how the inventor creates his female sex-robot, with pneumatics and servos.

But the sex was again not my sort of thing...lashings of semen as the male protagonist gives it to the sex-robot in every orifice, and no female domination until the last few pages, when the spirit of an ageing (and then dying) dominatrix enters into the automaton. We know that she's going to turn him into her sex-slave, but she doesn't actually do it in the book.

Once again, a disappointment that had a lot of potential and failed to deliver. I'll look out for more by the authors though.

Kidnapped by a Sky Pirate

Well, it looked promising - look at that cover! - but it was a bit of a disappointment. The steampunk aspect was quite well done; I liked the details of the Zeppelin, for example. But the femdom aspect wasn't my cup of tea at all. Our male first-person narrator is kidnapped from a passenger Zeppelin by the eponymous sky pirate, and she's fierce and sexy and strong, just as you'd want her to be.

But most of the sex is him being raped by her bulky male henchmen, and him discovering that he likes it after all, even though he'd previously had no idea. He's raped anally, he sucks cock, he's drenched in cum, and he loves it. Even when she gets involved, and invites him to go down on her, he's still being fucked in arse, and this time by both of the henchmen at the same time. I know some femdom fans get turned on by the idea for 'forced bi', but there wasn't much here for us girls. A shame, because I get the feeling that Charlotte Mistry is actually quite a good writer.

Worth checking out!

...is Bob Milne's blog about fiction with a female-led component. There is an under-populated steampunk section.

Mistress of the Air

Not many authors are writing steampunk femdom, but an honourable exception is Slave Nano, whose 'Mistress of the Air' is a milestone in the genre. I have to say that I didn't find it much of a turn-on (here's my review) but I admire the sentiment and the commitment to detail in the steampunk world he's created. Go buy a copy and give him a review!

Why a steampunk-femdom blog?

Because it seems so obvious, and yet no-one is doing it. I'm really not at all doing this to promote my book series, The Eradication of Vice (though I am rather proud of it).

Steampunk and femdom seem to go so well together - all those corsets, all that boiled leather and shiny stuff, and all those powerful but slightly sinister women...and yet there's almost nothing out there. So I'll look, and record what I find here.

And if you do happen to surf on over to the book series, and you read it, then please leave a review - reviews are more important to me than sales!
